They say that, when it comes to stressful life experiences, selling your home is right up there with death and divorce – so it comes as no surprise that many people feel a bit battered and bruised by the end of the property marketing process.
However, selling your home is a necessary evil if it is time for you to move on or move up, so you will need to find a way to retain your sanity until you achieve a sale.
Here at Photoplan we know how unsettling the property marketing process can be, so have put together a few tips to help you survive until you sell!
Be Ready for the Off
Don’t jump the gun – make sure your house is as you want it before you begin property marketing. You may wish to ensure that outstanding jobs are finished, or areas decluttered and dressed before you even approach an agent – this will prevent you from being caught out as process takes on a life of its own!
Prepare Property Marketing Materials Properly
Give yourself the best chance of achieving a speedy sale by ensuring that you have the best possible property marketing materials. Commission professional property photography for listings and property brochures and try and use an agent who is competent at marketing property both off and online (remember most house hunts now begin on the internet!)
Keep Your Home in a Sellable State until Sold
If viewings are few and far between, it can be tempting to let the house get away from you again, but this will pile on additional pressure if someone suddenly want to see it. Try and get into a routine of keeping spaces spick and span while you attempt to sell – whether you keep it up in your new home, of course, will be totally up to you!
