If you want a home in a unusual location, don’t want to be surrounded by other homes, or simply long to immerse yourself in stunning seascapes, then The Island might just be the property for you.
This week it was revealed that the truly unique rock top mansion had been placed in the hands of property marketing firm Lillicrap Chilcott, with a pricetag of £1m.
Sitting atop Town Island, a large granite cliff in the middle of Towan beach, this 1930s mansion is only accessible across a private suspension bridge from the nearby cliffs – creating a private have in the heart of one of the UKs favourite holiday destinations.
Property Photography Reveals Stunning Sea Views
Property photography reveals that the home, which comprises three bedrooms, a small garden and is surrounded by a sun terrace, offers amazing panoramas out over the Atlantic ocean – a sight that the current owners have never tired of in their decade of residence.
Opening the curtains and looking out on to the Atlantic is an adventure every morning,” owner Lady Long told The Telegraph.
She added: “It’s even more spectacular here in bad weather. The waves never quite come over the house, but they often look as if they’re going to!”
Literary Connections Add to Property Marketing Pull
And if the location wasn’t enough of a USP for those in charge of the property marketing, the home also boasts some exciting literary connections, with rumours that it was a favourite retreat of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who was a close friend of a previous owner.
