Agents Use Social Media to Share Shocking Stories

Estate agents caught in the act, drug growing operations in the attic and a bizarre shrine to David Hasslehoff – just some of the home showing memories shared by property marketing professionals via Twitter.

Real estate agents Redfin have set up a new profile on the social media site, dedicated to sharing their employees’ tales of the unexpected, and workers have responded well, with some great anecdotes about what they have encountered while working.

The new @REConfidential identity tweets glimpses into the world of property marketing, where sellers are sometimes surprised during showings.

Already a hit with workers in the industry, the microblogging feed is billed as “straight and true” stories direct from Redfin’s own agents, and comes with the caveat “What happens on a home tour does not always stay on a home tour!”

Recent tales shared via the social media site include:

“Entered a vacant house, followed a trail of shoes & clothes up the stairs to find 2 realtors “discussing a deal” – just without clothes on!”

“Took my clients up to the attic & found a weed growing operation. Apparently it comes with the property because the seller already moved out”

“Found David Hasselhoff shrine of toys, paintings, autographs & lifeguard floating devices. Wish I could say it was hidden in the basement…”

Property marketing professionals wanting to share their own strange showing stories need simply tweet their tales to @REConfidential.
